Where to start counting...

They say that the body travels by plane but that the soul travels in a camel. Mine, I believe, remains still on her trip in somewhere along the Strait of Gibraltar, returning from one of the most wonderful and intimate places of the world that I have known, my dearest Tessaout Valley, in Morocco. I am writing these lines although I have returned more than a month ago…

This trip has meant discovering and meeting of the unknown and wonderful Tamazight people. In case you do not know, it means “FREE MAN”. They are also named “Berbers” by the Muslims, and have been isolated and excluded during many decades. This one, is my brief history of approximation to their lives, their landscapes, their people, and to the Tamazight world of the 21st century, though it might well look like that one of 200 years ago, 1000 years maybe? It is an incursion inside an era without vestiges of progress, which though so much good has done to us in many cases, it has also greatly reduced the essence we had in the Western world.
